Seven Canyons Trust is a nonprofit organization working to uncover and restore creeks in the Salt Lake Valley. Three Creeks Confluence Park is one of their projects, which involved uncovering where the Red Butte, Emigration, and Parleys Creeks meet the Jordan River. They uncovered 200 feet of combined streams, designed a new pedestrian bridge and a new plaza that has brought knowledge and life to this new place.
Place Collaborative was brought in to create a programming document and feasibility study for the historic home adjacent to the Three Creeks Confluence Park to see if this location could be a successful adaptive reuse project, converting the historic building into a new community asset that includes offices, community space, and a headquarters for Seven Canyons Trust.
The planning effort integrates adaptive reuse, historic preservation, sustainability opportunities, and workplace opportunities to determine the optimal collaboration space for the community.
