Q&A with Holli
What are your hobbies?
My favorite hobby is traveling and collecting experiences. Absolutely love seeing things in real life that I explored in Art & Architecture classes, as well as anything that is unintentional & quirky – Expect (and hope for) the Unexpected!
Favorite inspirational quote?
An inspirational quote that I have made my life motto is one by Eleanor Roosevelt – “You must do the thing you think you cannot do!” She has a lot of very sage advice – check out her collected works.
Was there a person or experience that made an impact on your life?
Many architects from the U will remember this advice from the memorable Tom Kass – “There is no solution – seek it lovingly” - the number of times I have given this advice to many people, in architecture and in life, is immeasurable, and just last week I shared it with a young man who creates music, and he was so inspired.
Tell us something about your job that you are very passionate about.
Creating projects that positively impact people’s lives. Everything from a Living Building to a large Public Recreation Center to Highly Sustainable Community Libraries. I visualize the wonder and the joy of a user who is experiencing the projects that I am involved with.
